In 2016 the Bankruptcy Fund for Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Uruguay was awarded with the project “Bordado Charrua de la Memoria”. A documentary on community embroidery was produced on 5 beaches in the Department of Rocha, Uruguay.
An important collective textile work. Consisting of a map of 3 x 2 meters of the coast of the department of Rocha, where people through interventions will embroider, on pieces of cotton cloth, their spa, their town, their community. At the same time in this process they will tell us about the places that left traces in their lives, their stories of love, adventures, and misadventures, magical places and identities, what was lost, what would change and what their environment lacks. The places to be conserved and protected.
